Sir Harry Solomon, qualified as a solicitor in 1960 and remained in practice until 1977. In 1976 he was a co-founder of Hillsdown Holdings plc, which became one of the largest food groups in Europe. 

He currently has interests in a number  Of companies both public and private in the UK and in the US.

He was awarded a Knighthood in 1991 for services to the food industry and is also an Honorary Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians.

Sir Harry is a member of the Audit and Remuneration Committees.
